Space and Time
This project is a cohabitation between humanities and math two. The idea is to make a self governed project in which we will design our own project to pursue for the rest of the year.
Slaughter House Five & Flatland
Stage !
Slaughterhouse five is about how war affects the mind. It takes you though a journey in a mans mind. The book its self is written with extreme suave. The main charter or protagonist billy pilgrim Is a meek scrawny man with no back bone and tends to irritate every one he comes into contact. The books leads the readers mind though a maze of themes and consents such as reality mainly what is real and not, Time and dealing with no free will or not being able to control life. it also dabbles in the fourth dimension and possibility of what it may contain. The main character Billy inter acts with a alien life called the tralformarions who teach him about the lack of free will and then let him
have his concept of the world expanded. while learning about this book we did back ground research into the truth of war and expanded out knowledge of book writing. |
Flatland is a concept book that pokes fun at Victorian society. In the book you are fallowing a layer who is a square in a past tense first person narration. it explores themes of dehumanization, deformity or informality and multidimensional. It explores more of the math side of the possibility of multiple dimensions such as the 4th dimension. The main character has a worldly common out look on life. He see how the system works and after learning and having his knowledge of the world expanded he tried to share this with the world. The main problem with the book is wrapping your head around he idea of a flat world where that is no depth only fog to let you persevere depth in a off fashion. It helped me to look at it like how Mario sees his world then figure that is vertical and what I want to see is horizontal so all I have to do is rotate it. In math we have equations for most anything they say even sociology could be equated but there are to may variables.

The art peace is a repetition of power on of the plot changing ideals in flatland time one of them main theme in Slaughterhouse five. I picked these themes to show the ideas that i brought away from the books. I have experience on the medium of paper and pencil in which i chose to use this instead of a newer one to my repertoire, canvas. In this piece It shows how the pursuit or purity of power is strung along by time and how power affects it has on those who try or do obtain it. It shows how if power changes item still flows stringing it along.

Shattered a Narrative art Project or Stage 2 & 3
The experience was a bit more then commonly expected form average high school. The exhibition was made in about 5 day give or take which led to the intricacy to be lacking a little bit. The story was about the shattered mind of a philosopher. We told it in a linear fashion with three rooms. The first being made up like a personal office, This was meant to give light to the mind of the philosopher and his insanity. the over all feel of the tunnel like entrance into the next room was a last minute thought it did how ever give a decent priority and his the next room nicely. The last room was art it was supposed to be the guys mind after a car wreck ending with him in a comma, it was it was art and a projected fractal on a white sheet. Over all it was nice for school exhibition but nothing that would impress those with passion or experience in nay field it pertains to.
The part were we separated into groups for the project put the idea to go with what you most likely can do, so I went with builders. From that I learned a bit about building and over all I realized the choice people make in the beginning that often is wrong on the simple premise of it was made with out all the information. Form this I learned that if you step up and go with a place of authority then choose to go with the easy way more will follow but if they respect you before hand the rule will be a much easier ride. With two lighting rods in the builders lance and I ended up presiding over the different types of people in the group.Lance presided over mainly the skaters and the social, while I ended up with the not so social and the little bit more respectful well a lot more respectful in comparison. The ones I had contact with already had a decent level of mutual respect between us which led to a smother over all interactions between us. What I mainly learned form this, is that people follow the leader and they tend to pick the leader for themselves which can lead to many problems. In this project over all I did my share, but I could of done more. I ended up just helping with building and fractals in the end. I could of brought in speaker, enough to make the building shake but I did not because I was in builders and no one asked if I had them. I could of taken initiative and helped with the story boarding part because builder didn't have much to do. My reasoning for this was simply in the past I have tried to help the ones who do better in class and seem to be the "Good kid" but that didn't end well and left me with a lack of respect for them.
The project was based on meow wolf which pretty much just gave the class a general feeling of interest and acted as a muse to look back upon. this mainly showed in the artist and story boarders and less with tech and builders. They seemed to like the idea of creating a mood of madness that was kinda showed in meow wolf.
For being the least project this year it left me with a sense of simple regret for my decision to take the easy route with building. I personally took more away in my hobbies this year then in school which to me is sad. Truly a school can do better for a student who has a mild addiction to learning. one such hobby is my constant trying to find out why people do what they do. I learned a bit in why people are lazy form this project. They tend to be lazy simply because it is easy and the human brain is programmed to take the easy safe route. I mainly learned this by paying attention to how the builders group acted towards lance and I. In the beginning they rallied behind me because i took the easy route as a leader and gave them a pretty much impenetrable excuses to do nothing. We need the designs. a simple one but those make the best excuses. I know most artist will have to make art to a predetermined area, we could of built a lot earlier if I had not given them an excuse. this project did not teach me much about math off the top of my head nothing the same when it come to humanities content, though I did learn form it it wasn't the intended information. I did developed better leadership skills along with a better understanding of humans as a whole.
This project changed the idea I had at the beginning thinking it could come together and truly teach the class while still lacking effort and thorough thought. It just did not live up to what I expected the extra days are what made my mind up. Most did not show up for them, I know some have other predetermined priorities but for three days in a row, that is not necessarily bad but to end I say my quote (Maybe someone else said it before but hay we all end up in the same place doesn't mean all took different paths there) "Its not a matter of time its a matter of priorities and your's just don't match up with mine."
